This is it

Sunday is the big day. The last day Jo and I occupy our house, actually Jo's not been here for a week or so.

Just hope i've packed everything.

It doesn't mean we've sold our house, unfortunately it would appear that some solicitors are conniving little rats, but we are nearly there. I will be chuffed to be out, but only cos i hate moving house, as i've said before it is with sadness we leave our friends.

Loving the storm

There's not a lot better than a good storm after a hot and muggy few days. Don't know about anywhere else, but in New Haw we had a cracker. Thunder and Lightning, my drive was even flooded up to the door step. What fun, and now it's nice and cool.

Selling yourself

Thought i'd let you know how the interview went. Well it was ok, got off to a shaky start, had to write about the various legislation and guidelines relevant to residential care work, of which i know very little. But then the rest went well.

It was, all in all a good experience, i've only ever had one interview so practice needed i think. Being honest, i dont think i will get offered the job, but it was well worth going for the experience.

I also heard yesterday that i have been shortlisted for another interview, so i am now focussing on that. I will keep you all posted.

It's amazing what you find

Fair play it's easy to store up a whole heap of crap in your house.

Most of it is off to the tip or charity shop but there are a few bits and pieces up for grabs if anyone needs/wants it. I'll keep you updated as i find new things but for now:

James Bond (video) collection 1-18
Indiana Jones Trilogy (video)
HP 840c Printer

We even have Lucy's electronic Saxophone, not giving that away. Unless you no longer want it Lu?

Packing our bags

For those of you that don't know, Jo and I are leaving the fair town of New Gay/Haw.

And unfortunately today is the day we start packing, it has to be said, that moving house is one of my least favorite things to do, particularly when it's hot. We're are probably only around in New Haw until the 30th July, though we're staying in London for a bit after that.

It really will be with sadness that we pack, not because of the heat or because it's a rubbish job to do. But simply as we're leaving our home and our friends.

Not a hint - honest

My birthday is coming up (this isn't a hint but my birthdays on the 25th and my address is...) and my mum is asking what i want. Well i think i've turned into my dad. When we were kids we would ask what he wanted for his birthday, he'd either say "nothing save your money" or "i'd like a Ferrari please". Though i have not reached the stage of asking for performance cars, i do seem to only be able to think of too expensive things or nothing at all. It's worked in the past as i got a beautiful espresso machine and a few other bits and pieces but it's not good really, but then i guess why fight it. I've got expensive taste, its who i am.

a lovely weekend

Just back from our anniversary weekend. We had a lovely time, went to Thorpe Park on thursday which was great (not as good as Alton Towers though, i think they should charge less for it). Then went to Devon camping. Lovely.

Implied metrosexuality?

Football or tennis. That is the question.

Obviously this last month or so has been a treat for sports fans. Though which sport tickled your fancy might be different to the expected. World Cup football, pah. Wimbledon, hurrah.

I think my preference for tennis is partly due to the higher professionalism and sportspersonship I perceive when watching. I can't stand the diving etc evident in almost every football match I've ever seen. Does this preference for tennis over football imply metrosexuality in the uk and/or beyond?

Your thoughts please, on the metrosexual thing and the football tennis thing...

Interview

Sorry its been a while since the last post, been busy and kinda got out of the habit. You might argue I never really got into the habit, but there you go. Well a bit of good news from me. I recently applied for a job as a residential care worker, and I've just been given an interview date, so chuffed about that. The interview's on the 24th of July, if you wouldn't mind, then your prayers would be most welcome.
